The United States is the world's biggest importer of products and the world's second biggest exporter of goods in terms of value. Despite having a population that accounts for just 4.2 percent of the world's total, China controls 29.4 percent of the world's total wealth, the highest proportion owned by any nation. It is the world's most powerful military power, accounting for more than a third of global military expenditure, and it is also a major political, cultural, and scientific force on the international stage, as well.[1]
