Michael Gibson, M.S., M.D. [1] ## Patient Counseling Information[edit | edit source] #### Information for Patients[edit | edit source] Patients should be instructed to avoid allowing the tip of the dispensing containers to contact the eye or surrounding structures. Patients should be advised that metipranolol contains benzalkonium chloride which may be absorbed by soft contact lenses. Contact lenses should be removed prior to administration of the solution.
