Julie Kumari Mahato (Nepali: जुली कुमारी महतो) (also Juli Kumari Mahato[1]) is a Nepali communist politician and a member of the House of Representatives of the federal parliament of Nepal and Minister of Women, Children and Senior Citizens .[1] She was elected from CPN UML[2] under the proportional representation system.[3]
In the 2013 elections for the second constituent assembly, she was a candidate for CPN UML from Dhanusa-3 constituency. still she cound not win the election and lost to Nepali Congress Vice-president Bimalendra Nidhi.[4]
long time member of CPN UML, she was appointed a "Co-Incharge" of Dhanusa district for Nepal Communist Party (NCP), the new party formed by the merger of CPN UML and CPN (Maoist Centre), in 2019. Though Nepal communist Party could not live long and got dissolved on 8 March 2021.[5][6][7]
Mahasheth had dispute with mushlim community in the eve of local elections. He sent a team of people led by CPN (UML) municipal committee chairman Surendra Bhandari to abuse Muslim Commission chairman Samim Miya Ansari.[8] Ansari gave statement against Mahasheth couple and asked government and KP Sharma Oli to take strict action against them else he would not remain silent.[9]
