He was the father of President George H. W. Bush, and the grandfather of President George W. Bush and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush. He was a Rockefeller Republican, and similar to his descendents, he was indeed a liberal RINO. ## Union Bank[edit] Bush, manager of Averell Harriman's Union Bank, negotiated on behalf of the bank with Nazis before and during World War II, which managed German assets in the United States.[1] In 1942, the assets were seized by the federal government. In 1943 President Franklin Roosevelt appointed Harriman U.S. Ambassador to the Soviet Union. ## Support of eugenics[edit] Bush was a member of the American Birth Control League since 1942.
