Mark Fisk is the co-founder of Byrum & Fisk, a Michigan communications and strategy firm. He began his career as a journalist and worked for several newspapers in Michigan before transitioning into the political communications field.
Mark Fisk has worked as a print journalist at several newspapers in Michigan including: The Oakland Press, The Herald-Palladium and the Kalamazoo Gazette. He won first prize for feature writing from the Michigan Press Association in 2000.[1]
In 2002, Fisk served as communications director for Michigan Senator Gary Peters (D) when Peters ran for Attorney General of Michigan and as press secretary for former Representative David Bonior (D) from Michigan's 10th Congressional District when Bonior ran for Governor of Michigan. According to his profile at Byrum & Fisk, the communications and strategy firm he co-founded in 2007, Fisk was the political and communications director of the Democratic Party caucus in the Michigan House of Representatives when the Democratic Party regained the majority following the 2006 elections.[1]
