RFC, also named activator 1, is a protein complex consisting of five distinct subunits of 140, 40, 38, 37, and 36 kD. This gene encodes the 37 kD subunit. This subunit forms a core complex with the 36 and 40 kDa subunits. The core complex possesses DNA-dependent ATPase activity, which was found to be stimulated by PCNA in an in vitro system. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been reported.[6] ## Interactions[edit] RFC4 has been shown to interact with: * BRD4,[7] * CHTF18,[8] * PCNA,[9][10] * RFC2,[9][11] * RFC3,[12][13] and * RFC5.[9][11][12][14] ## References[edit] 1. ^ a b c GRCh38: Ensembl release 89: ENSG00000163918 \- Ensembl, May 2017 2. ^ a b c GRCm38: Ensembl release 89: ENSMUSG00000022881 \- Ensembl, May 2017 3. ^ "Human PubMed Reference:".
