The NAACP has "more than 2,200 affiliates covering all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Japan and Germany," with membership exceeding 500,000 people. The California State NAACP has "72 branches and youth units mobilized across the state" to help accomplish organizational goals.[1] ## Mission statement[edit] "The NAACP’s principal objective is to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of minority citizens of the United States and eliminate race prejudice."
