This is a common desert plant native to the southwestern United States. It is an erect perennial herb approaching half a meter in height. The stems grow from a woody caudex and form a rough clump of hairy, bristly gray-green leaves in dry, rocky areas. Out of the clump grow erect stems topped with dense inflorescences of hairy mustard-yellow flowers. Each flower is tubular with sepals wrapped around the tube below a flat-faced or curled-back corolla of five lobes. The fruit is a nutlet 3 to 4 millimeters wide. ## External links[edit] * Jepson Manual Treatment * USDA Plants Profile * Photo gallery Taxon identifiers Cryptantha confertiflora| * Wikidata: Q5190635 * Calflora: 2451 * CoL: ZTRL * EoL: 579476 * EPPO: QPTCO * GBIF: 2926280 * GRIN: 452120 * iNaturalist: 76495 * IPNI: 71315-2 * IRMNG: 11101390 * ITIS: 31796 * NatureServe: 2.155338 * Plant List: kew-2745465 * PLANTS: CRCO12 * POWO: urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:71315-2 * Tropicos: 4000830 * WFO: wfo-0000627385 Oreocarya confertiflora| * Wikidata: Q17414679 * Wikispecies: Oreocarya confertiflora * CoL: 6SSQP * GBIF: 2926281 * GRIN: 453467 * IPNI: 175886-2 * IRMNG: 10588794 * ITIS: 517908 * NCBI: 1213300 * Open Tree of Life: 793471 * Plant List: tro-4001778 * POWO: urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:175886-2 * Tropicos: 4001778 * WFO: wfo-0001215589 This Asterid article is a stub.
