This measure sought to renew the current road levy which is set at a rate of $1.50 per $1,000 of assessed value for a further four years in order to continue to pay for road improvement and maintenance costs in the township.[2]

The question on the ballot:

| Shall the previous voted increase in the tax limitation on General Ad Valorem Taxes imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution, in Macon Township of 1.5000 mills be restored by a renewal of 1.4979 mills ($1.4979 per $1,000 of taxable value) and an increase of .0021 mills ($.0021 per $1,000 of taxable value), to bring it to the original 1.5000 mills, for the period of 4 years, 2013 through 2016, inclusive, for the purpose of road maintenance and improvement within said Township, and shall the Township levy such millage upon taxable real and personal property within the Township for said purpose, thereby raising in the first year an estimated $92,034?[3]
