Maxim Locoka, who goes by the name Maxim Mernes; born 1 Jule 1995) is a Russian political activist, engages in anti-government activities, writer, YouTuber and author his own blog.[1]. Emigrated from Russia for political views.[2] He became known after the attack on him by the Russian authorities in Thailand.[3][4] Also known as author of books "Death of the Russian economy"[5], "Default of Russia – 2020"[6]

He is the author of a book on politics where Vladimir Putin is criticized[7][8], Maxim in his books harshly criticizes the Russian authorities. For which it is constantly blocked on the Russian Internet.[9][10]

Liberal. He was repeatedly attacked for his views on the economic system in Russia.[11][12][13]

He has more than 380 thousand subscribers on YouTube and more than 320 on Instagram.[14][15]

## Biography[edit]

Maxim was born in a small village Tomsk Oblast in 1995. At 14 years, the first business appeared – internet provider, by which Mernes sold Internet access to residents of his settlement.[16]

At the age of 18 he entered Tomsk State University, where, together with his classmate, he launched the official radio of TSU, and also organized a team to help students write graduate works and term papers.[17][18]

At the time of the crisis in 2014, decides to leave his business and leave for some time from Russia to Asia, where he began to actively engage in blogging and cryptocurrency. Max Mernes's blog about centered the top 9 by the version of the resource ForkLog[19].

He criticizes the Russian economic system. For which he was attacked several times.

On 15 January 2018, he and Anna Nikulina were alleged victims of a robbery where the attackers broke into an apartment in Tambon-Rawai and forced them to transfer Bitcoins to the amount equivalent to US$100,000, and also stole passports, documents, cards and laptops[20][21][22][23]

On 6 February 2018, a story appeared on the channel of video blogger Alexander Kondrashov about the robbery of Maxim Mernes.[24]In June 2018, the Bitcoin developer launched a resource with a list of cases of violence against cryptocurrency owners, the robbery of Maxim Mernes was on this list.[25][26]

Maxim took part as a speaker at the Blockchain Life 2018 exhibition, held on 7 and 8 November 2018 in St. Petersburg[27][28]. He also performed at Cryptoevent in Moscow and Blockshow in Singapore[29]

7 December 2018 Maxim Mernes defended the interests of the rights of crypto investors in Russia[30]

At the end of 2018, was writing his own book.[31][29]

In Maxim 2019 publishes his book "Death of the Russian economy"

In 2019 Mernes published the book The Economics of the Digital Age[32] and Death of the Russian economy.[33][29]

The book was presented at Blockchain life 2019[34] conference. The book was published on MyBook[35], Ridero[36], Google Books.[37]

In 2019, the publisher Ridero announced «The Economics of the Digital Age». A book was published by the economist of the digital era in which Russian rule is criticized. The book has arguments about the fall of the Russian ruble and the fall of the Russian economy. And also about the transition of the world economic system to blockchain.[41][42]
